As Art Director at Octagon, I take on a variety of brands daily to execute various creative needs such as environmental and arena graphics, deck renders and key visuals for large projects. Clients include BMW, The Home Depot and Mastercard among others.
Arizona Sports 98.7 FM and KTAR News 92.3 FM fall under Bonneville International - a radio company with six locations across five states. This job provided challenges and learning opportunities as I worked hard to build and enforce a brand for both the news and sports stations, as well as develop the HTML5 and static display ads for our various clients.
The Fiesta Bowl is nationally known for it’s college football bowl games (PlayStation® Fiesta Bowl and Cheez-It® Bowl), but the organization is also a 501c3 nonprofit that raises money for the state of Arizona through numerous Fiesta Bowl Charities events throughout Valley.
I took the lead in designing all of the collateral for the inaugural Cheez-It Bowl from conception to production. It is what I am most proud of!
A collection of some of my best work for social media.
During my three and a half years working for the Phoenix Suns, Phoenix Mercury, and Talking Stick Resort Arena, I developed season-long campaigns, and designed collateral that spanned across digital, print and large-scale platforms. Each season presented new challenges and opportunities, and the creative team worked hard to produce content that was not only aesthetically pleasing, but also engaging for the fans.
I learned early in my college career that I had a passion for photographing sports. I love the competitive nature, unpredictability and emotion that can be captured through a single photo. I am fortunate to have had opportunities throughout my internships and jobs to not only design, but also photograph games, special events and concerts.
I took a chance early in my career to try to stay in the sport world, which led me to taking a job in Tulsa, Oklahoma with the AA Affiliate of the Colorado Rockies (now Los Angeles Dodgers). Minor league baseball is a small operation, which gave me the opportunity to develop skills along with graphic design in other parts of the organization, including sales and running the social media channels.
While I was in Tulsa, the Drillers acquired a United Soccer League (USL) team, The Tulsa Roughnecks. My duties for the Roughnecks mirrored what I did during the baseball season. Working with the Roughnecks for their inaugural season was fun, and presented my first chance to develop a season-long campaign for the team.
A sample of the freelance projects I have had the pleasure of working on.
The Washington Nationals was my last and most rewarding internship I had before taking a full time job. I laid out a feature article for Washington Nationals Magazine, among other unique opportunities like the season ticket holder pins that fans received with their tickets in the mail.
